Excool Chosen for ITB-Kwadraat Eco Friendly Data Centre

Excool have been awarded a contract to supply equipment for a new 6MW eco- friendly data centre development in Apeldoorn in the Netherlands.

First to Achieve New Eco –Label

The development is aiming to be the first to be granted the new Dutch Green DatacenterCooling label. In order to achieve this, the project needs to return a PUE of 1.3 or less without using HFC refrigerants. After investigating other ‘green’ alternative systems Excool was preferred due to its compact nature and lower water and energy usage.

Compressor-less Cooling

The design using Excool removes the need for mechanical cooling completely relying on the superior indirect heat exchanger and adiabatic system combination. Coupled with Excools high efficiency ECDC fans and advanced adiabatic and evaporative cooling system the annualisedpPUE is predicted at 1.033 at full load and lower at part load.

High Quality Strong and Lightweight Construction

Excools’ advanced construction technique utilising composite plastics and stainless steel result in an exceptionally strong but lightweight product ideal for rooftop applications in addition to being able to be installed anywhere in the world as Excool is virtually impervious to any type of corrosion.

European Sales Director for Excool Mark Collins added “Considering the need to meet ever more challenging carbon reduction targets and achieving this with significant CapEx and operating cost reductions is very exciting for everyone involved in the development of thisindustry leading product”
